What does COP26 mean to us and our business?
With the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow only a few a days away, we took the opportunity to ask Robert Dackeskog, CEO of Duni Group, a couple of questions.
What does COP26 mean to us and our business?
“At Duni Group we share the concerns around climate change that has been documented through rigorous scientific work over the years, that has established beyond doubt that this is happening due to human activities. We therefore believe that everyone has a role to play to mitigate the effects of the ongoing climate change.”
So, securing a brighter future requires action from us all. How can Duni Group make a difference in the fight against climate change?
“Duni Group has committed to a net zero ambition for scopes 1 & 2 by 2030 and is in the process of setting science-based targets for the whole Group. We also aim to become fully circular by 2030, an ambition where we really see the importance of cooperation and collaborations both within and beyond our own industry. “
That’s an ambitious goal, how can we reach that?
“Several pilots and collaborations are ongoing to increase circularity for our products. Our work towards sustainable leadership has already started. We are actively switching to renewable electricity, moving away from fossil energy sources, and reducing our dependency on fossil plastics. We welcome more partners to co-create a better future for all. “
To sum up, what is Duni Group’s position in this?
“We fully support the work at COP26 and hope and believe that the parties will be able to reconfirm the Paris Accord that limits global warming to well below 2 degrees and aim for staying below 1.5 degrees Celsius.”
