Striving to be circular at scale

To be truly sustainable, a product’s life cycle must be considered in a circular model. Today, society has strong drivers, including the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP). Adopted in 2020, it is a cornerstone of the Commission’s comprehensive European Green Deal for a sustainable future. Duni Group supports this – being circular at scale by 2030 is one of our main targets.

Part of UN Global Compact

An essential step for Duni Group in 2021 was signing the UN Global Compact. With over 12,000 participating companies worldwide, it is the world’s largest initiative to bring together businesses around corporate sustainability. We are now one of these companies that commit to making human rights, labor law, the environment, and anti-corruption part of the company strategy, culture, and day-to-day operations.

Five prioritized UN SDGs

In 2021, we analyzed our operation deeper and how it connects to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a result, we have prioritized five SDGs that fit well into our three sustainability initiatives and provide opportunities to understand our sustainability work, externally and internally. The prioritized goals are:

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
SDG 13: Climate Action
SDG 15: Life on Land
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

Approved science-based targets

In 2023 our science-based targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative. Setting science-based targets ensures the work towards further reductions of greenhouse gas emissions in line with the Paris Agreement. This is an important step towards the goal of reaching net-zero across the value chain by 2050. Using science-based targets is a comprehensive and transparent way for Duni Group to show the long-term work to further reduce greenhouse gases. The performance will be followed-up and communicated externally annually.

Our sustainability report is an integrated part of our annual report.
