D&D London shows its continuous commitment to sustainability over the festive period
Recognised as a leading hospitality business in caring for the environment, D&D London has taken steps to become even more sustainable this Christmas by choosing Duni’s ‘Spirit of Christmas’ crackers. The crackers are 100% plastic free and made from plant based and FSC® certified paper-based materials, enabling D&D’s restaurants to provide diners with a more environmentally friendly experience whilst still delivering the festive feel good factor consumers look for at Christmas time.
What’s more, at least seven per cent from the sale of every box of crackers will go to charity Shelter to help provide vital support to thousands of people struggling with bad housing or homelessness.
Gareth Brown, Market Development Manager at Duni, commented: “In the current fight to reduce the use of unnecessary plastic, D&D London is really leading the way in choosing sustainable options. In the UK hospitality sector alone, we estimate that 35 million crackers go pop every year, with many containing unnecessary plastic items, contributing to the 48 million tons of waste entering landfill annually. It’s therefore great to see hospitality businesses like D&D making a conscious effort to become more environmentally friendly during the festive period.”
Tiffany Robinson, Marketing Director at D&D, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Duni this Christmas. We’re always on the lookout for new, innovative ways to become more sustainable and the Spirit of Christmas crackers provide us a great opportunity to give our customers a fantastic Christmas experience whilst at the same time being mindful for the environment.”
D&D is part of an ever-increasing number of companies within the hospitality industry who are demonstrating their on-going commitment to the environment.
