Duni launches ecoecho® Octabagasse take-away boxes

A new addition to Duni’s ecoecho® range, Octabagasse take away boxes are aimed at managers of HMR and take-away businesses. They feature the same distinctive design language and easy handling as the original Octaview® range but with one big difference: the bases are crafted from compostable bagasse while the matching lids are available in 100% rPET or bagasse, which is available from Q2/2019.

A new addition to Duni’s ecoecho® range, Octabagasse take away boxes are aimed at managers of HMR and take-away businesses. They feature the same distinctive design language and easy handling as the original Octaview® range but with one big difference: the bases are crafted from compostable bagasse while the matching lids are available in 100% rPET or bagasse, which is available from Q2/2019.

The launch comes at a time when Duni is bringing a suite of new eco-conscious concepts to market and demand for bagasse products is sky-high. This powerful consumer trend is fuelled by growing concern over global climate change, driven in part, by the record-breaking heat of this year’s summer.

THE ULTIMATE STAGE FOR FOOD – NOW ECO

Bagasse, a robust material, is made with surplus natural material from sugar production: the dry pulpy residue left after the extraction of juice from sugar cane. It will readily biodegrade under controlled composting conditions and is used for several designs in the Duni collection.

ECO-CONSCIOUS, EXCLUSIVE AND EASY

From a handling perspective, Octabagasse boxes offer a number of practical advantages. They are stackable to simplify storage, and their lids close securely. Furthermore, easy-to-grip handles help customers to transport food easily and staff to prevent spills.

Octabagasse boxes are suitable for warm and cold foods, and come in three formats to suit a wide variety of different meals. These are designed based on research into modern portion sizes and eating habits.

LIDS MADE FROM UPCYCLED OR RECYCLED MATERIALS

The lids for Octabagasse boxes come in a choice of upcycled or recycled materials. For managers who want to tempt customers with in-store displays of delicious looking food, the rPET lids made from 100% recycled plastic are ideal. The bagasse lids do not reveal the food inside and are therefore better suited to creating displays with a strong eco-feel.

While the bagasse lids are not see-through, Duni does offer to customise them for customers, thereby turning them into a branding opportunity. The company can also emboss the 100% rPET lids, as well provide personalised stickers and sleeves

SUSTAINABILITY, QUALITY AND STYLE

Duni’s ecoecho® range comprises a selection of top-quality products – all independently tested to ensure optimal sustainability – made with a selection of the best eco-conscious materials available. To qualify as ecoecho®, a significant part of the product must live up to at least two of these environmental standards: resource efficiency, renewability, compostability or responsible sourcing.
