Duni launches new colours for 2016
Since 1954, Duni has mastered the art of manufacturing coloured table-setting concepts. The colour production traditionally takes place at the paper mill Rexcell In Skåpafors, Dalsland, Sweden.
In total, Duni’s unicoulour range holds more than 20 nuances, and now three new shades are added. The three colours are a muted pink nuance called Mellow Rose, a warm yellow colour called Honey, and finally a brownish hue called Chestnut.
Karin Nyhuis, Chief Designer Table Top at Duni:
- For two years, there has been a considerable focus on cooler colour tones that refer to the sea, sky and nature. Now we are moving towards a time where warmer colours will make their entrance again. Duni's three new colours highlight the feeling and mood that will be prominent during next year.
- The beauty of our three tones is that they complement each other, and can also be used individually. Honey, the warm yellow nuance, will be the important accent colour in 2016. It will show up in interior as well on the fashion scene.
The new colours are fully compostable. Today, the entire Duni unicolour range is certified with the trademark OK Compost, which is in line with a well-developed sustainability strategy encompassing all business areas within the Group.
The three colours are launched on several materials for napkins and table covers, including Duni’s Dunilin® and Dunicel® materials.

About the colour Mellow Rose
Mellow Rose is a lightly muted pink pastel shade. It is feminine, without being romantic, and at the same time it brings a contemporary feel. The colour provides a nice contrast to both darker and lighter colours, and fits particularly well with white as it creates a delightful summery feel.
About the colour Chestnut
Chestnut is a deep brown, almost dark and nutty, shade that grounds and exudes warmth and earthiness. All coming brown shades are reminding us of the protective and warming bliss that comes from wood, clay, fur and leather.
About the colour Honey
The warm yellow nuance Honey evokes warmth, joy, a source of power and energy. Serving as a “golden glow” it is well suited as an accent colour and can also be combined with both Mellow Rose and Chestnut with a harmonious result. The colour appears excellent on raw wood surfaces.
